Bulk Edit WordPress Post Format

October 14, 2013

After a few tiring days of searching for ways to bulk convert posts into a new post format for the upcoming Inspire Me Today redesign, we went ahead and created a plugin to easily take care of this task. You’ll need to convert an entire category, but it’s simple enough to assign selected posts to a temporary category if needed. Choose your category and post format from drop down menus and that’s it! We’ve tested this so far on large categories with 800+ posts – let us know what you use it for.

Download the plugin from the WordPress Plugin Directory

Is there any way to limit the number of posts that are converted?

Since it converts the whole category, your best bet is to create a subcategory containing only the posts that you’d like to convert.

Love the thing. Saved a lot of time. A kewl piece of work. Would double love it if it would convert all scheduled posts to new format not just the already published one. Any possibility of this? Would save mucho more time.

I believe WordPress 3.7 added this functionality back into Core – have you tried that?

How can I convert all posts together instead by category?

You could assign all posts into a temporary category and then convert that category.
