Behind the Scenes of MediaPlatform's New Site: A Case Study

MediaPlatform’s “Enterprise YouTube” services have supercharged internal communications and training for countless companies like Adobe, Facebook, and General Motors for years. Razorfrog teamed up with the MediaPlatform marketing team to relaunch their WordPress site with a brand new design built with today’s responsive web design standards and incredible functionality in mind. The new mediaplatform.com features some impressive technology under the hood. Let’s take a closer look at this tech giant’s marvelous transformation from an outdated web 2.0 layout to a clean, flat responsive design.

Content Galore, Or How To Stay Organized

Our greatest challenge was migrating a massive amount of content from a previous complex WordPress installation into a highly functioning, uncluttered, responsive and user-friendly framework. Over fourteen weeks, Razorfrog and MediaPlatform collaborated on the best way to migrate and display their extensive content archives. Our own internal creative process included carefully tracking content updates and page statuses. This enabled clear and straightforward communication between our team and the team at MediaPlatform, allowing us to receive and give feedback in real time and prioritize our workflow accordingly.

A Breakdown of MediaPlatform’s Site Content

MediaPlatform’s newly launched website featured more than 75 pages, 340 blog posts, 6 premium products and services, and 32 press releases. The company’s large customer base has been divided into 8 general categories, which can expand to include others in the future. Four unique custom post types create a dynamic structure for MediaPlatform’s growing list of internal resources, which launched with 15 white papers, 5 case studies, 27 webinars, and 17 datasheets.

Our team drew from more than 55 curated and edited images to enhance the website’s visual communication. Multiple videos were shot by the client to be prominently featured in the homepage’s responsive video slider. All 91 icons used throughout the new design have been collected as a custom set for internal use in SVG and PNG formats. Fully editable and responsive layouts complement dynamic content areas to accelerate the content management process. Seamless integrations with other third party services are highlighted in an easily digestible format for smartphones, tablets, desktops and work stations.

Powerful, Easy To Manage Plugins

We’ve integrated a robust logo management plugin to showcase logotypes from more than 110 customers and partners. Due to MediaPlatform’s large customer base, it was essential for us to interface with logo designs on a modular level, even to the extent of per-page customization. A user-friendly interface for team member management allows for quickly editing and expanding upon MediaPlatform’s internal leadership team details. Lossless image optimization has been enabled to reduce file sizes and ensure speedy page load times. These extensions are only the tip of the iceberg that make the new website a powerhouse.

Integrated Security, Design Assets and Resources

The new MediaPlatform website features a securely encrypted connection via SSL to safeguard the information of prospective clients. Marketo web forms allow for the creation of gateway landing pages, requiring a simple signup to access additional content.

Our design team created a wide variety of responsive device composites which visually communicate product accessibility from all devices. Customized product flow charts provide visual representations of MediaPlatform’s core products, enabling a deeper understanding of MediaPlatform’s flexible technology. The site also features an internal style guide to define MediaPlatform’s brand assets in one place.
